Meet Dr. Jasmine Lee

Dr. Lee is a highly motivated, passion driven individual who considers herself a scholar, practitioner and activist. She is proud of her Lansing, MI roots, where she started her college career at Lansing Community College.

She currently works at the University of Maryland Baltimore County community, where she serves as the Director of Inclusive Excellence. For over a decade Dr. Lee has served students directly by creating inclusive campus environments through direct programming, strategic student success initiatives, and collaborative leadership, along with consultation for racial climate concerns and broader diversity issues for faculty and staff across campus. Dr. Lee completed her doctoral degree in the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education program at Michigan State University. Her research focuses broadly on Black college student experiences, social justice, and theory-to-practice methods for higher education professionals. Additionally, she holds a BSW from Eastern Michigan University and MSW from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Lee has spent over 10 years engaged in diversity work and training, as well as leadership development for youth and college students.

 

She has designed and implemented mentor programs and volunteer training for both high school and college students, and works diligently with organizations to establish learning outcomes, curated experiences, and ongoing development for professional staff teams.

Dr. Lee has served as a keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, and faculty/staff trainer for various groups in cities such as New York City, NY; Stanford, CA; Chicago, IL; Washington, D.C.; and across the state of Michigan, as well as internationally in Canada, South Africa, and China. Additionally, she has presented at various national conferences including the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Conference, the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Conference, the Residential College Symposium, and the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE).
Dr. Lee is more than just work... she is a daughter, a sister, a friend, a cousin, and an avid traveler. Dr. Lee is an active volunteer and community member. Through her service with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I5 City Church, and other community organizations, she believes in leaving an impact on the world.

She has a deep belief in people and possibility. She seeks to find joy in everyday life, and values time with friends and family…. especially her super cute twin nephew Kamran! More than anything else, she believes that she is always capable of learning, growing, and evolving.
